Are test calls free?

Upfirst doesn't charge for test calls so that you can continue tweaking and customizing your agent, without eating into your calls.

Yes — test calls are always free.

Test calls help you try out your Upfirst receptionist without eating into your number of calls. There are two ways to make them:

Option 1: Call from your own phone number

  1. Go to Settings → Account on the left

  2. Under Business details, add the phone number you plan to call from.

When you call from this number, Upfirst automatically marks it as a test call and you won't be billed for it. You can change this number anytime — it won’t affect your call-forwarding settings. The number you add here is only used to recognize test calls.

Option 2: Use the Web Call button

You can also place a quick test call using the Web Call button in the top-right corner of your screen. It’s great for fast checks, but keep in mind call transfers and texting don’t work on web calls.

For the most accurate test, we recommend calling your actual Upfirst number from the phone number you added in Settings.
