Here’s how to forward your calls from your Google Voice number.
First, turn off spam blocking in Upfirst (just for setup)
Log in to your Upfirst account.
Go to Settings → Call Filtering.
Temporarily turn off Spam blocking. This is only needed so Google Voice can call your Upfirst number with a verification code.
Next, link your Upfirst number in Google Voice
On a computer, log in to your Google Voice account.
Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right.
Under Account, click New linked number.
Enter your Upfirst number.
Google Voice will call your Upfirst number.
Log in to your Upfirst account, listen to the call, and note the verification code.
Type that code back into Google Voice to finish linking.
Last step, create a forwarding rule in Google Voice
In Google Voice, go to Calls.
Click Create a rule.
Choose All contacts (or customize if you only want some calls forwarded).
Under “Forward to these numbers”, select your Upfirst number.
Make sure call screening is turned off. If you are receiving calls that say "To accept the call, press 1" then you need to go back and turn call screening off.
Click Save at the bottom.
How to update your Google Voice settings to forward the right caller ID
Fortunately, it’s a really simple fix and should take less than a minute. Here’s how:
Open your Google Voice app
At the top left, tape Menu > then go to Settings
Scroll to Calls
Look for “Show my Google Voice number as caller ID when forwarding calls”.
This should be toggled “Off”
Now, when you forward calls from your Google Voice number, the real caller ID will show up in the summary and transcript, making follow-ups much less confusing and much more accurate.
